Recurring Transfer Cost
A monthly transfer is a subscription. Price it over a year and over five years, not per transfer.
Consolidating two transfers into one usually saves the fixed fee but not the percentage costs. Check whether the recipient needs the money at the original frequency.
Fixed fees reward consolidation
If the fee is fixed, halving the number of transfers halves the fee cost. If the fee is a percentage, consolidation changes nothing. The structure of the fee tells you which lever works.
Rate differences compound
A one percent margin on a monthly transfer is one percent of everything you send, every month. Over five years that is a meaningful sum — often larger than the visible fixed fees.
Frequently asked questions
Should I send quarterly instead of monthly?
Only if the recipient can wait. The saved fixed fees are real, but the timing cost to the recipient may be higher.
Do providers discount regular transfers?
Some do, through account tiers or subscription plans. Compare the all-in annual cost, not the advertised rate.
What about exchange-rate timing?
Regular transfers average out the rate over time. That is a feature of recurring sending, not a reason to ignore the margin.
